Potential ILL or Depository Request Problems

Due to an unexpected technical problem that occurred during the server upgrade, ILL and depository requests submitted between October 16 and 22, might have been lost. Please re-submit any requests made between these dates. We will process them promptly.

Stop in the Microform Center on Maag's third level to view bird's eye maps of Youngstown from 1870 and 1882. Examine how the city more than doubled in size as steel mills grew along the Mahoning River where the Chevrolet Center now stands. Artists in the late 19th century literally walked down the streets of American cities and sketched individual structures to create these fascinating portraits of imaginary aerial views.
Youngstown's 1870 map may be purchased for only $6.00 at the circulation desk on Maag's main level. Measuring 18 by 22 inches in size, it is suitable for framing and would make an unusual gift for a special someone.

Networked Library Services down 10/16/08

Networked Library Services will be severely limited on Thursday October 16, 2008 from 8:00 AM until approximately 5:00 PM. During this time we will be experiencing a server replacement and the transfer of data from our current server to the new server. The following services will be affected:

1. There will be restricted access to the on-line catalog for Maag Library. During some times of the day, it will be completely unavailable.

2. Circulation of Maag Library Materials will be a limited manual circulation. Any manual circulations will be updated to the electronic version when the system is back in operation.

The YSU Proxy server will not be able to complete proxy transactions so:

3. OhioLINK circulations (p-circ) will not be available.

4. Access to library and OhioLINK databases from locations off-campus will not be available.

To the greatest extent possible, we urge all Maag Library users to make plans that avoid library electronic services during this time.

UPDATE: Available OhioLink Services -- Saturday, October 4

The service work which would have made certain OhioLink Services (OSearch databases and the EJC) inaccessible on Saturday, October 4, has been canceled. All services should be available as usual.
